Clear Chat in Discord:
Discord is a popular communication app that is primarily used for online gaming communities. It allows users to communicate with each other through text, voice, and video calls. Discord is available on a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and more.
One of the key features of Discord is the ability to create and join servers. A server is essentially a group of users that can communicate with each other through text channels and voice channels. Each server can be customized with different roles and permissions for its members. This allows for a high level of organization within large communities.
Discord also has a built-in system for sharing and discovering new content. Users can share images, videos, and links through the app, and can also create custom emojis and GIFs. Additionally, Discord has a feature called “Nitro” which allows users to access additional features such as animated emojis and higher-resolution video quality.
Discord also has a variety of security features to keep users safe. These include 2-factor authentication, the ability to report and block other users, and a trust and safety team that actively monitors the platform for suspicious activity.
Overall, Discord is a versatile and feature-rich app that is perfect for anyone looking to connect with others in the gaming community. Whether you’re looking to join a new server, create your own, or just chat with friends, Discord has everything you need to get started.
TYPES OF TEXT MESSAGING IN DISCORD

Discord has two types of text messages: Direct Messages and Channel Messages.
Direct Messages:
Direct Messages are private conversations between two users.
Channel Messages:
Channel Messages are text chat shared within a group on a specific channel. Initially, Discord administrators were able to delete or remove messages in bulk within the app’s native UI, but this caused issues with the Discord databases.
As a result, this functionality was removed from the native UI. However, it is still possible to delete all of your Discord server’s messages, though it may not be as easy as it once was.
HOW TO CLEAR CHAT IN DISCORD – DIRECT MESSAGES IN DISCORD
Technically, it is not possible to delete a Direct Message in Discord. However, you can close the chat panel to hide the messages and remove your copy of the message so it no longer appears in your history. The message will still exist in the other person’s chat panel and on Discord servers. To delete your local copy of a Direct Message, follow these steps:
Step 1: Right-click on the user you exchanged Direct Messages with and select “Message.”
Step 2: In the Direct Message panel on the left side of the screen, hover over the conversation and click the “X” that appears.
Step 3: The conversation will be removed from your end. Be careful, as there is no confirmation dialog, so make sure not to accidentally delete a conversation you want to keep.
If you only want to hide a few Direct Message conversations, this is all you need to do. To delete channel messages, you will need to follow a different process.
CHANNEL MESSAGES IN DISCORD

Just like Direct Messages, channel messages can be deleted using various methods. There are three ways to delete channel messages in Discord:
MANUAL DELETION: The first method is to manually delete the message. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open the text channel that contains the message you want to delete.
Step 2: Hover over the message until the three-dot icon appears on the far right. Click on the icon, then select “Delete” from the menu.
Step 3: A window will appear asking you to confirm your selection. Click the “Delete” button.
This method works well if you only have a few specific messages to remove, but it is not efficient for deleting large quantities of text messages.
If you want to delete messages, consider using one of the following methods:
USE A DISCORD BOT:
Another way to delete messages in Discord is to use a bot specifically designed for message deletion. There are many bots to choose from, but the MEE6 bot is a popular choice among Discord server administrators. Installing the MEE6 bot is straightforward:
Step 1: Log in to your Discord server.
Step 2: Navigate to the MEE6 website.
Step 3: Click “Add to Discord” and authorize the bot to work on your server.
Step 4: Select the appropriate server.
Step 5: MEE6 will ask for permission to delete messages. Click the “Authorize” button.
Step 6: From the MEE6 control panel, enable the Moderation plugin. Once MEE6 is installed, you can use various commands to delete messages, such as “!clear @username” to delete a specific user’s previous 100 messages or “!clear 1000” to delete the last 1000 messages on the channel.
You can also change the number to reflect the number of messages you want to delete, but the maximum number is 1000.
The final method for deleting a large number of messages at once in Discord is to:
Clone the channel. This creates a new copy of the channel without copying over the previous message history. To do this:
Step1:
First make a note of any bots that are on the channel, as they may not be carried over when cloning.
Step2:
Right-click on the channel.
Step3:
Choose “Clone Channel.
Step4:
Rename the new channel if desired, and create it.
Step5:
Then, delete the old channel.
Step6:
Open the new one.
Step7:
Adding any necessary bots.
Cloning a channel also copies over all users and their permissions, making it a more efficient option than creating a new channel from scratch.
